I am currently at Washburn University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media with an emphasis in Public Relations. To supplement my studies, I am completing Leadership Studies and Poverty Studies minors. 

 

I am highly involved in the Leadership Institute as the Socials and Banquets Team Leader and in Alpha Phi fraternity as the Director of Chapter Programming. In these positions I plan regular events for 30-350 people, overseeing the creative preparation and volunteer coordination for each event. 

 

I work as a Student Ambassador for Washburn University and a Server at Shadow Glen Golf Club, where I practice customer service, public speaking, problem solving, team work, and communication skills every day. 

 

I am interested in homesteading, balance, mindful living, and environmentalism. I love reading and I firmly believe that leaders are readers. I have developed a love of writing and I am working on creating a new blog that documents my journey from a stress-filled lifestyle motivated by what others expect me to do, to a peace-filled lifestyle of listening to my body and doing what I love. It isn't ready to be published yet but, for the time being, please read the simple blog below that I completed for a class assignment.
